Sparrow Bags at ModelCitzen!

I am so excited about this shop -- ModelCitizen is a locally owned shop in Salt Lake City that carries clothing and accessories made and designed by Utahns. I met with the owner on Friday, and he took about 15 of my bags to carry in his shop! I've been looking for a shop just like this one to begin carrying my stuff, and it is such an honor to me to have my work presented alongside all of the other amazing things I saw there.

So go visit! I gave him the cream of the crop, so he has a lot of bags that never made it into my Etsy shop. 274 S. Broadway in SLC.

we feel fine

I learned about an interesting website this morning as I was listening to NPR during breakfast (farmers' market eggs and spinach with homemade whole wheat bread - yum!). Go to http://www.wefeelfine.org/ and you can see a breakdown of a whole array of emotions people are experiencing across the world at any given moment. I like the feelings with photos.

Basically, I think the site follows personal blogs, and when it finds the words "I feel," it takes the feeling and archives it into this website for people to see. It's actually really interesting -- the most common feeling today? "I feel better."

chair

I said I got a chair at a second hand store for $8... here it is, sitting pretty in my office!
It reminds me of the Saarinen Tulip chair. It came with a gross cushion, so I recovered it in a white and green print. Love it!

a lovely afternoon...

Husband and I went for a lovely stroll up in Right Hand Fork this afternoon in Logan Canyon, followed by a delightful picnic atop a fallen tree at Tony Grove Lake.
It's too early for many wildflowers at the lake, but we saw a few on our hike...

busy bee

I'm busy sewing for a new opportunity I have to sell my bags at a local bead and gift shop here in Logan. Beadles Original Beads will start carrying my bags starting this Saturday! This also coincides with a customer appreciation day they are planning for Saturday, so if you're in Logan you should plan to check it out. I just got some fixin's for a new pair of earrings to make (how did I not have any yellow earrings before this?) and they have some really neat beads at Beadles.

In other news, my strawberries are ripe for the picking, and I just ate an entire strawberry and avocado salad by myself!

(i also found a replica Saarinen Tulip Chair at a thrift shop for $8... i'm sewing a new cover for the cushion, photos to follow shortly...)
